Plentific is pioneering real-time property operations for real-world impact. Our platform connects property owners, operators, service providers and residents, and covers more than 1.7 million properties and 5,000+ service providers. We believe property repairs, maintenance and management can and should work better for everyone. That means giving landlords more control, supporting trade professionals and strengthening the communities they serve.
Our clients, mainly social housing providers and local authorities, rely on a strong and reliable network of contractors for their repairs and maintenance works. When they need more capacity in a region or a trade, or a contractor for a specific project, we go out and find the right businesses and bring them onto Plentific.
We're looking for a Contractor Development Manager to lead that effort. This is a business development role. You'll identify the contractors who fit our ideal contractor profile and make sure they register to the platform, get them verified and onboard them to the platform.
We are looking for experience in business development rather than experience in our sector, and you'll have full support getting to know Plentific and the contractor market. What matters most is that you're proactive, persuasive and resilient, and that you enjoy finding the right contractors and seeing them through to their first job.
Grow our contractor network
Find and reach out to contractors who match our ideal contractor profile. Introduce Plentific and our way of working, answer their questions, and explain what joining means for their business.
Sign contractors up to Plentific marketplaces wherever there is a need in supply, and guide them through onboarding on the platform.
Where a client needs a contractor for a specific project, find suitable businesses, explain the project requirements, discuss pricing and SLAs, and agree whether it's a good fit.
Build channels to reach new contractors alongside direct outreach, such as trade associations, local networks, events and referrals.
Verify contractors on the platform
Review each contractor's submitted information and check their certificates and other documents against our requirements. Contractors can only start taking on jobs once every verification is complete.
Chase missing or incorrect information so they get verified and onboarded quickly and reach their first job.
Flag anything that doesn't meet our standards, and share ideas for improving how we verify contractors.
Manage your contractor pipeline
Own your contractor pipeline end to end, from contractors approached through to sign-ups, verification and active contractors, keeping accurate records of every contractor and conversation in our CRM.
Track progress at each stage, understand where contractors drop off, and follow up with those who stall before they are live.
Target supply where it is needed
Use data to identify the regions and trades where we need more supply, and prioritise your outreach accordingly.
Keep our ideal contractor profile sharp by feeding back on which contractors sign up, stay and perform well.
Share what you hear from contractors about pricing, SLAs and ways of working, so we keep improving our offer.
Essential
Experience in business development, account management, acquisition or a similar role where you've found and won new customers, partners or suppliers.
You're comfortable owning a pipeline from first contact to a live contractor, and tracking and reporting on progress at each stage.
Excellent communication skills. You can explain a platform, pricing and service levels clearly to tradespeople and small business owners.
Proactive, resilient and self-motivated, comfortable reaching out to people you haven't met, and organised enough to follow up consistently.
Confident using a CRM and Google Workspace or similar tools, and quick to learn new systems.
Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day work, and keen to find new ways they can save time.
Nice to have
Minimum 4 - 5 years of experience in business development and/or acquisition.
A track record of growing a customer, partner or supplier base.
Experience in social housing, property, repairs and maintenance, facilities management or construction.
